With over 25 years of experience in IT and 16 years in leadership roles, I'm Steven J. Humpherson, an IT consultant and senior engineer with a focus on IT support and security. Throughout my career, I’ve worked to improve IT processes, manage projects, enhance service performance, and foster strong team dynamics, all while ensuring strict adherence to data security and compliance. I've thrived in fast-paced environments, consistently delivering service improvements that increase customer satisfaction, improve support quality, and provide accurate reporting.

In simpler terms, I’m an experienced computer engineer who has been working with Microsoft programs since Windows 95. I’m also proficient with Apple, Android, and some Unix-based systems. Over the years, I’ve worked with thousands of software programs (or "services" in IT terms), solving problems and finding solutions—even for things I didn’t know at first! I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the biggest names in the industry, including the NHS and IBM, as well as in sectors like shipping, insurance, education, and social housing.

I hold certifications in customer service, leadership, ITIL (a framework created by the UK government in the 1980s to manage IT effectively), project management, security, software, hardware, and networking.

For the past nine years, I've called Hastings home (and Eastbourne before that), and I truly love this part of the country.

When I started 1066IT.com, I had a simple goal: why shouldn’t everyday people have access to the same high-quality IT support that large companies and banks rely on, especially in a world that’s becoming increasingly digital?

My goal is simple: to help people understand. No one is born knowing all this stuff, so I want to be the person you can turn to with your questions. The person who can help you. The one who can take IT jargon (because let's be honest, it can be confusing!) and make it easy to understand.

I’ve always told my teams, "The only silly question is the one you didn’t ask!" And now I’m bringing that mindset to real-life situations, for real people.
